Sunday's Run - Jan 25, 2009
Jan 23, 2009
Hi Kids
We had such a good turnout last week in Inglewood we are going to do it all over again this week. This week's adventures calls for a trip to the Twin Peaks. What are the Twin Peaks you ask??.. one way to find out is to come and join us.. Peak One is on McLaren Road and comes at about 8km following a series of rolling hills .. but they are small and barely worth mentioning.. really.. Peak Two is the by the Caledon Ski Club on Mississauga Road.. you can watch the skiiers going down while you are running up.. well.. sort of.. mostly you are looking down trying to not think about how long the hill is.. this is at about hmmm.. 15km.. from there is a nice run back through the Forks of the Credit, by the banks of the credit river.. you can watch the water rush by.. dive out of the way of the occasion tourist driving too fast.. and that is it.. total distance of this loop will be 27km.. however variations can take it down to about 20k if you are so inclined..
There are a variety of options in Inglewood in addition to the one mentioned above - routes start at about the 11km mark and each give you a chance to run the challenge of some hills and they ALL give the opportunity to get out of the city and into the trees..
For those unable to make the trek up to Inglewood but are still looking to enjoy a run in the cold wind that is being called for on Sunday - Kirsten Dunne and crew are doing a 12k run from the Running Room - not sure of the route she is using but we went for a nice loop around Torrence Woods on wednesday that I will share with her.. so you never know.. anyway.. I will leave that part up to her..
All runs are starting at 8:30 am from their various venues.. enjoy .. have fun.. be safe.. hope to see you out.
Jim
