NEW: Weekly Long Run
Oct 24, 2008
We are well into the fall Running Season and several FMCT members have already run their Fall Marathon or Half Marathon. Several others will be taking part in the Hamilton Marathon and New York Marathon in the coming weeks.
In preparation for the rest of the Fall running season and the fast approaching Winter running season we will be starting our Weekend long run and our weekly Wednesday run.
The Wednesday run will always start from the Running Room located at #1 Steeles Avenue East, (Hurontario/Steeles) and will start at 6:30pm. This run is approx. 10kms in length and the pace has a tendency to be a little quicker then the Weekend long run. After the run there is usually time for a coffee at Tim’s.
The Weekend run will be a little longer in distance and will be from different venues (Terra Cotta, Inglewood, High Park and sometimes the Running Room). The distance increases as the season progresses but there are always alternate routes that can be taken to accommodate all sorts of distances. We will send out an e-mail in the middle of the week advising where, when and what the route will be. After this run there is always time for a hearty breakfast at a local eatery.
Please do not be intimidated on coming out to these runs. We have members who run at all sorts of different speeds. The more people we have come out, the more likely you will find someone that runs the same pace as you do.
The following races are very popular and well attended by FMCT members. If you are intending on doing any of these, you should consider signing up now.
