Weekly Email

Apr 7, 2008

Hi Gang

I hope this email finds you well and in good spirits!

We had our first what we can describe as warm weekend of the season with temperatures soaring to a high of 13 or so.. also soaring was the wind, especially on Sunday. One thing about riding in 40km+ / hr winds on Sunday, it makes the 20km+ / hr winds on Monday not seem so bad.

Well, for those keep track, the 100 Day run challenge is coming to an end. As I write this I believe we are on day number 98, so a couple of more runs then a cold beer to share with the stories of people reaching their respective goals. Congrats to all that participated, well done.

The Monday swim session at McMurchy pool is now also complete. Thanks to all that came out to help make it a success.

This weekend it the 4th annual Run4Hope! We are ahead of our last years participant totals already and historically registration at the race kit pickup days and race day registration has been good so we are expecting a banner year. We have some high school teams coming to compete. Thanks to the two Laura's for getting their students involved.

Speaking of getting involved. Not too late to come out and run or volunteer! The more the merrier. Also we are taking a team photo and going for a group ride after. So come out and have some fun with the group.

Hmmm.. what else. we went to High Park on Saturday for a run in the morning and then to hand out Run4Hope flyers to the Harry Spring Run Off participants. There were about 2500 people running so lots of people to hand out the brochures to.

We will be starting our weekly rides soon. If you come out to functions, like the group ride after the run4 hope it is a good chance to identify people in your pace group to ride with. Riding with a group, large or small can make for an enjoyable day.

So, ah, what have you guys been up to?

Jim
