Weekly Email

Apr 25, 2008

ok ok so its Wednesday and I am just sitting down to write out the weekly email. Actually by the time some of you read this it will be Thursday.. either way you look at it , it is a late email. But believe or not this is the first time I have had a few minutes to just sit and type.. and I had to skip a swim workout to do it.

At any rate, I would be remiss if I did not mention the success of the Run4Hope this past weekend. We had a record number of participants, a record amount of cash being donated to the Brampton Panthers, a record number of people in attendance for the FMCT group photo and our own Brian Hasting popped a sub 37 minute 10k to win the big race. Congrats Brian. All in all a good day was had by all. Thanks to all those that volunteered on the day and in the days and months leading up to the race. We would not have experienced such a successful day without your help. Thank you.

Next up is the 1st clean up day for the Adopt a Road Program!!.. Oh it's not as bad as it sounds. Its actually a lot of fun..well..sort of. But one thing is for sure, the more people we get out the quicker the job gets done. We'll let you know the date as soon as we iron one out. We are looking for someone to spearhead the function. Any takers??.. don't make me pick someone.. cause I'll do it you know!

So bike season is here.We are seeing more and more riders out each time we go. So come on.. get out there!

Words about biking from Coach Rob..
1) The wind is your friend
2) A clean bike is a fast bike
3) Don't piss into the wind.. especially you ladies..

We had a good turnout for the 100 day run challenge end of challenge get together. The beer was cold!! Need I say more!

Stay tuned for the next challenge which is in line for a May 1st start. More to come.

We have approval for the open water swims at Professors lake. So that will be starting in mid June give or take.

The crew is off to Boston this weekend for the marathon. Bill, Brian, Brent, Brad, Don best of luck and we hope you each reach your goal for the race. I sure hope I didn't miss anyone that is going.

Hmm.. thats all I got.. time for a Neo Citren and some sleep.. see you soon!

Jim
