Ok
so that was fun.. fun was doing a really short run on Saturday then have a big breakfast as if we had done a really long run!! Fun was also participating in the Burlington Chilly Half Marathon with a whole bunch of fellow FMCTers.. it was a great day for a race.. sunny.. not too much wind.. and lots of friends to share it with
I hope everyone achieved their goal for the day! Special congrats to Richard (Ricky Bobby) Westwood who pulled off a 1st place in his age group finish! He walked away with some swag included an extra medal for his basement, a dinner for two at Paradisimo (not sure if I spelled that correctly) and a Mizuno hat and socks.. and we can always use more socks!!.. good job Rick!
The weeks are flying by and it won't be long before we can get outside on our bikes.. I say that right after hearing a weather report that it is supposed to snow the rest of the week, but it is warm out today so lets go with that!
Swims are abound - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at McMurchy - Monday and Thursday are FMCT only - Monday is not coached - Tuesday and Wednesday are Cobra lane swims. There is Sunday morning at Balmoral - which is an hour and a half from 7:30 to 9;00 for those looking for something longer.. I have been advised that there is a group that usually swim at Gellert on tue, thurs (8:30-9:30 and sunday morning (8:00-9:00) so that is an option as well.. let me know if there is anything else I am missing.
We are working with the City of Brampton to establish an on - going relationship that will give us access to the new Cassie Campbell rec center that wil be opening this year. - We will keep you all in the loop for that.
The 100 day run challenge is up and running ..haha.. get it..I kill me.. and judging by the PBs that happened yesterday it seems to be paying of for some..
Aubrey Bryce spin class is coming to an end - so back to solo basement rides for those who signed up..
Last Call for Muskoka in June - I will send a separate email to those who have committed but not yet paid - but we do have a few spots left - only a couple tho so get me quick if you want in.
Hmm.. this weeks run is back to Inglewood.. couple of hills.. but all in good fun..
Also a group of us will be heading to Ottawa for the marathon weekend out there.. it is a combination ride run weekend. We ride the hills of Gateneau on the Saturday then run either the half or the full marathon on the Sunday.. good fun.. so put it in your books if you think stuff like that is fun and join us.. this is a non - coached - everyone work at your own pace weekend - IE you ride and run as much as you want - we meet at the bottom of the hill after and head back to Ottawa for a little R&R and a nice dinner in the Byward Market area..anyway.. for your training radar
Oh.. I won my first roll up the rim at Tims.. a coffee.. big woopie..
Talk to you soon
Jim
