Coached swimming

Hans comes to us as swim coach with a passion for coaching and a lifetime of water related activities. He became a lifeguard at age 14, teaching youths swim and rescue in his home country of Germany. At 17 he became part of a boat rescue team. He later learned to scuba dive and became an instructor for instructors in scuba diving. He was part of the German national championship rescue swim team and invited to the world rescue swim championships.
Since moving to Canada, Hans has become involved in the sport of triathlon where he has continued to make an impact. He won his age group at the Canadian National triathlon championships, received the Ontario Masters Athlete of the year award. In Lausanne, Switzerland, Hans raced a very competitive field in the Men’s 50 Masters World Triathlon, which included a 1,500 metre swim, 40 kilometre bike course and a 10 kilometre run. Hans came out the water in 9th place, off the bike in 7th and ran down the 3rd place athlete to take home the bronze medal for Canada.
Hans currently coaches swimming, biking and running for the C3 Cross Training Club, and swim with Dorado and FMCT.
