Ironman France - Tuesday

Jun 17, 2008

Argggggggggg.. I'm a little stressed. It's 1:40 pm; the cab arrives in 2 hours to take to the airport. I'm not finished packing yet..

Well, I'm close to being finished. I finally got the bike into the bike bag. I couldn't for the life of me get the pedals off (one of the baggage requirements is that the pedals need to be removed). I couldn't even remember which way they are supposed to come off. I knew that the threads on one side are opposite what you would expect. The problem is I couldn't remember which side. So for all I know I could have been tightening my pedals instead of removing them. Anyway, a quick trip to Cyclepath solved that problem.

I did manage to get in a quick bike ride this morning. It felt nice to be out early in the morning though it was a little cool. That helped to calm my hyperness (is that a word?) a little but I sure would have liked to get in a quick run before the cab arrives. That's not going to happen now.

It is a little nerve wracking wondering if I remembered everything. I did make a checklist and I've got everything on the checklist covered. I think I've also managed to get everything that is not allowed in the carry-on bag into the checked baggage. At least I hope so; I better check again.

Ok, my hamburger is done. Time to go fix lunch. I've hardly eaten all day, I've been so busy. Next time I write I should be in France.

Au revoir
